Local Adventures!

Since emerging from my maternity leave two months ago I have begun to get back to my blogger life. I was posting here and there, but took a little hiatus while pregnant. Now my little man is here and I'm finding more time for mommy. I've been going to a lot of local blogger events and interacting with so many small business. The only problem as a new mom I'm trying overcome the obstacle of actually sitting down and writing blogs. I have trouble finding the time  to let you know all about these amazing small businesses I have been seeing. Therefore in today’s blog I wanted to take the time and recap some of the people and small businesses I have encountered on all the blogger events over the past couple of months.

SisKiss: A local accessory business, ran by two sister Megan and Marla. I was fortunate enough to meet Megan at one of my blogger brunches and she is so much fun and has a great sense of style that is transparent in some of the amazing accessory pieces SisKiss has to offer. Besides being a local business, what I love most about their brand is they have high and low end pieces so they are perfect for any budget. If your looking to add some excitement to your look you have to check this brand out!

Watershed Distillery: A local spirits brand base out of Columbus and was responsible for a signature Brunch Cocktail at one of my events. We got to sit down with Jen, a rep. for Watershed who told us all about this great local distillery and restaurant and mixed us up some great drinks. What I love most about this company is it adds a new variety into the local brewery scene we have here in Cleveland. I'm not a big beer drinker but a fun fruity mixed drink is something I can get excited about! Watershed distills everything from vodka and gin to bourbon and brandy. Although their home base is in Columbus I've been seeing this brand at all types of events around Cleveland, it was no surprise to see one of there featured cocktails at a blogger brunch. If your out and about this summer in Cleveland definitely look for this local brand and try one of their spirits!

Blossom Cleveland: You have heard of retailers like Stitch Fix and FabFitFun Box where you pay for a subscription monthly and they send you a box full of fashion and beauty goodies. Well, Blossom Cleveland has this concept except for they send you fresh flowers. Who doesn’t like fresh flowers to brighten up their home? At Blossom Cleveland they deliver you fresh flowers weekly or bi-weekly. Instead of going to the flower market and making a bouquet you can just go online pick your own arrangement and have it delivered. Its It's easy and convenient.
At one of my blogger meet ups we met Megan one of the florists and she taught us how to make some beautiful floral crowns. It was so much fun and who doesn’t like a crown especially when its it's made with fresh flowers? If your looking to add some freshness to your home you have to check out this local florist!

Emily Roggenburk: While celebrating women in business last month at the Local Girl Gang event I met with designer Emily Roggenburk, who runs a Cleveland-centric clothing line that I'm obsessed with. She is responsible for the “Cleveland AF" design that I'm sure you have seen everywhere. If your looking for some cool graphics to show your CLE pride or one of a kind pieces you need to check her designs out you will not be disappointed!

Art of Sucre: When you go to a fair one of the many food items you must buy is cotton candy. For The Art of Sucre (Sugar) they are bringing this sweet treat on the road so you can have it anywhere anytime. I was able to sample this sugar concoction at the Local Girl Gang event and it made me feel like a kid again. What an adorable idea and it’s perfect for showers or a grad party. You need to check this local company out and make them the next dessert option for your summer party!

Maplewood Boutique: Local boutique trucks are all the rage here in the CLE and the Maplewood Boutique truck does not disappoint. Last month I was invited to their launch party at the HiHo Brewery and they have some really great fashion and accessory pieces. Still not at the size I want to be post baby, I opted for some fun accessories to add to my collection. You can find them this summer at the Cleveland Flea or check the website to see where they will park next!

HiHo Brewery: I am not a big beer fan but I've been known to have a cold one once in awhile and HiHo Brewery did not disappoint. Nestled in Cuyahoga Falls this brewery has the the drinks, food, and a patio! Which made it the perfect spot for the Maplewood Boutique launch party. After shopping I was able to sample some of their bar eats and beer. It was such a fun Sunday afternoon. Although Cuyahoga Falls is a little too far for me but if you live close you need to check HiHo!

Sanity: If your familiar with the Chagrin Falls area you know the square is lined with fun boutiques and eateries. One boutique in particular that you need to check out is Sanity. I went to support a fellow bloggers shopping event and the store is trendy and has a good price point. They carry everything to create the perfect outfit from clothing to shoes and even some fun accessories. Next time you find yourself shopping in Chagrin Falls you need to check out this amazing boutique.

Fetch and Co.(The Trader): Most recently I shared a nice brunch with some of my favorite bloggers at The Trader in Lakewood. It's a pop up boutique that hosts a variety of small businesses but the one you will find in there most often is Fetch and Co. The small business owned by the two owners of The Trader, Julia and Abby. I loved shopping this brand it was colorful and well priced. They have everything from fun graphics to that perfect summer maxi dress. Next time your on Detroit in Lakewood stop in and say hello!

You know I'm a lover of anything local so make sure to check out some of these awesome local makers when your out and about this summer!
