Thirty, Flirty, and Thriving

Yesterday was my 30th birthday, I was a little sad leaving my 20’s, I accomplished so much and crossed a lot of things off my bucket list. I lived in New York for a year and worked for Seventeen Magazine when I was 21. I graduated college with honors at 22. At age 23, I found an amazing company to cultivate my passion for fashion and now I’m a Senior Merchandise Manager for them. I got married to the most amazing man ever at age 26, started my blog at 27, and traveled to Paris, England, and Mexico in my late 20’s. It’s amazing to look back and really appreciate all that has happened over the past 10 years and I’m so grateful for all the people in my life who have helped me along the way.

As I start a new chapter, I hope to achieve so much more in life. I hope my 30’s bring me the little Wiley we have been praying for. I also want to go to Italy and Ireland. I hope to grow my blog to be successful like all the other bloggers I look up to and follow, and of course make it to New York Fashion Week as a member of the audience not the background. If I’ve learned anything from my 20’s it’s if you want something you have to go after it. There are a lot of challenges and obstacles in your way but, you have to stay positive and know everything will happen when it's supposed to happen. I thought going to Europe would never happen and two summers ago I found myself in the middle of Paris standing in front of the Eiffel Tower. It’s crazy the journey life takes you on. Sometimes I forget to appreciate it. If I have any advice for all the 20 somethings out there, it is to take the time to appreciate all that life gives you. You might have your days when you feel like nothing's going right but, when you take the time to look back and see your accomplishments you really are amazing!

Lastly, no blog post would be complete without some Styled by Stacy fashion advice. Remember age is just a number it doesn't define you or what you can and cannot wear. I’ve noticed with age, or even motherhood, as I hope to enter into it soon, that the women in my life tend to take the easy way out with their fashion choices. Their too old to wear this, or not the same size they used to be to wear that. Never sacrifice good style because you think you need to be a certain way to wear certain things. I’m officially 30 years old and I still shop at Forever 21. Yep that’s right, a store primarily for younger early 20 something fashionistas I frequent on the regular. You just have to know what you're looking for. I might not fit into or still have the legs for the short skirts or skinny jeans but, I can rock a midi metallic skirt from there for my bday!

Like age, size is just a number. Yes, as you get older and have kids you kiss that college body goodbye. This doesn't mean you can't be fabulous. To this day I still do not know the size of my wedding dress, and I really don't care because it fit great and looked AMAZING! Don’t try to fit into a certain size when shopping just make sure you look good and feel good that's all that matters. My closet is filled with different sizes because I never sweat the label I just focus on how good it makes me look.

So, remember to enjoy life no matter what age you are and always look fabulous while you're doing it!
Cheers to my 30’s!
