While millions of shoppers prep their Black Friday shopping list, this local girl is gearing up for Small Business Saturday. I love shopping local for the holiday season. I think it makes gift giving extra special, who doesn’t want a unique gift that represents their hometown pride? There are so many great local places to shop and I’m finding more and more each day, but to make your Small Business Saturday a little easier I’ve collected a list of some of my favorite places to shop and where to find them this Saturday. If you are from the Cleveland area you definitely have to get out this Saturday and check out some of these local makers and support the small businesses that make our city great!
1. Banyan Tree: Lifestyle and women's clothing boutique that offers trendy pieces and local goods. They have 3 locations, making it easy to shop this holiday season. Their flagship store is located in historic Tremont at 2242 Professor Ave, you’ll find the other two locations in Crocker Par…

Cozying up in Style!

Fall weather is here! Which brings not only your pumpkin spice latte that you love so much but, cozy essentials like sweaters and scarfs to layer to stay warm this season. Finding the perfect sweater to wrap yourself up in is key, and I have found some snuggle worthy sweaters for this fall season I just had to share!
First up, is my favorite style the open front cardi. Not only is this perfect for layering but, it makes it easy to stay warm with a growing baby bump. I’m really into the longer length cardi. I have an array of regular length ones in my wardrobe but this fall season I’m all about stocking up these longer cozy pieces. In my featured look I’m wearing one of my new favorites from Old Navy and below I’ve linked two more that are a must have for fall!
Old Navy Lord&Taylor Urban Outfitter
My next style of sweater I’m gushing over this season are sweaters with a twist. Sweaters are being re-imagined in silhouette and detail this season. From pearl details to off the shoulde…

Fashionable Weekend!

As a Cleveland fashion blogger I get invited or attended many fashion events in the city that I love. I remember coming home from fashion school in NYC and seeing the fashion potential in the great city of Cleveland and now that I’m a fashion blogger from Cleveland I have completely immersed myself, or have at least tried to, into the Cleveland Fashion scene. This weekend my schedule was filled with various CLE fashion events I just had to share with you all. I have said it once and I’ll say it again we are a city on the rise and I am so excited and honored to be a part of the rising fashion scene and events like the ones I attended this weekend make me proud to live in the CLE!

Saturday morning I attended a Bloggers and Ballini’s Event at Alson Jewelers on Chagrin Blvd. The event featured Ippolita designs. Ippolita is fine jewelry line that is propelling into the realm of fashion by embracing color, comfort, and exuberance. It was so much fun enjoying some morning pastries along side …

Shopping Maternity!

When dressing maternity there are many challenges you face. One of the many challenges I discovered was where to shop and not only that but, where to buy maternity for a good price. Places like Destination Maternity that cater to the pregnant women are so pricey it’s crazy. Why would I spend a $180 on a dress that's only good for 9 months, if that, and it's not even designer!? As a fashionista I have my go to places to shop and when you go maternity those places no longer accommodate your changing body. Realizing I may not be the only one suffering from maternity dressing, I decided to share some of the places I found to shop maternity in hopes that it will give you a good start when you find yourself in the market for maternity.
The Old Favorites: Asos Maternity, and H&M Maternity. Good news, not all your favorite place to shop are off limits, two of my favorite trendy retailers offer maternity. It’s nice to be able to shop at a retailer you love and not have to worry abo…

Dressing the First Trimester!

As a Fashion Blogger who has become an expecting mother, I have received many questions from followers and friends on how to dress while pregnant? I am no expert on “maternity fashion”  by any means but as a fashion influencer I feel it is my duty to share my wardrobe leanings with all of you in hopes to help you look and feel your best, even while pregnant. Now that I’m in my second trimester and face new fashion challenges I wanted to reflect on my first trimester and share with you how I survived in the fashion world while dressing an ever growing baby bump.

When your in your first trimester your bump starts to grow little by little. For the most part you can still fit in your favorite pair of jeans. If you're like me and experience a form of morning sickness that didn't leave me nauseous, but instead I had a constant stomach ache, leggings and dresses became my best friends. Most of my dresses were already flowy so, it was easy to put them over the bump. I also earned to ge…

#whatsjaywearing and Amend!

If you follow me on social media you will know that my husband and I are currently expecting our first child. For women out there trying to be a new mama let me give you a warning, fashion gets a little difficult for the first trimester, you're in an in between stage where some of your wardrobe fits and other items are busting at the seams. I’m sure you can only guess at the complication this might cause a fashion blogger such as myself. I can’t really go shopping or try the latest trends because in two weeks it won’t fit due to my ever growing bump. So for my latest blog I’ve decided to hand the mic over to my husband and an awesome local men's skin care line called Amend.

I learned about Amend form one of my old fashion school classmates, she was currently working with them to help jump start their brand and asked if I wanted to feature their product on my blog. As you all know I cannot pass up an opportunity to showcase a local maker and my husband (#whatsjaywearing) made f…

The Perfect Summer LBD!

“One is never over- or under-dressed with a little black dress.” - Karl Lagerfeld
This is one of my favorite fashion quotes from a Chanel designer. It is the one piece of fashion advice I always keep in mind when it seems I have nothing to wear, especially now with an added bump. I think there are many versions of the LBD perfect for every occasion including the summer time! I know traditionally when you think of the LBD, you think of something more refined and classic, think Audrey Hepburn Breakfast at Tiffany’s. But like the great Mr. Lagerfeld suggests, the perfect LBD comes in many forms. A good example of this is my basic swing tank dress that is lightweight, perfect for the summer weather, and it's easy to mix and match with some of your favorite summer accessories making it perfect for any summer occasion. Today on the blog I wanted to rethink the LBD and make it more accessible for summer. I will show you some amazing LBD’s from my favorite retailers that will leave you looki…

Fashionable Fruit!

One fun summer trend I’ve been noticing is the immersion of fruit in fashion. I’ve seen everything from lemon and watermelon tees to a fun peach shaped hand bag. Fruit is definitely making a statement this summer. Not only is it good for you but, it also looks good on you! Even my photographer is inspired by fruit. She saw fun fruity photographs and had to take some shots of her own. Being one of her lovely models of course I agreed to help and her inspiration led me to my own fashionably fruity blog post!
I’ve listed some of my favorite fruity pieces to try this summer to accompany these pretty produce shots by Ashley Shaw. I hope we inspire you to try this colorful and sweet trend this summer for yourself!

Pretty Peplum!

Photo's by: Ashley Shaw
Am I the only one obsessing over the peplum? When the peplum silhouette first arrived on the fashion scene I was not a fan. They were shorter and more form fitting through the bust and on my hourglass shape they were not flattering. Recently I’ve noticed more of a relaxed peplum  silhouette, creating more a fun and flowy look  leading me to fully embrace the peplum. My closet is quickly filling up with more pretty peplums and I had to share with you some of my favorites! When styling my favorite peplum I like to pair it with some skinny denim and wedges for a night out and cute sandals for a day look. However you decide to wear your peplum I hope these five pretty peplums encourage you to try the trend and remember if you need any advice on styling them feel free to comment below!
